How will we pay for it?

Considerable progress is being made in the planning and implementation of the scheme to provide all ability access by way of a walkway from the Cuddy Bridge to the church and Church Centre. The timetable envisages that the work could start as early as June, provided there are no unforeseen delays. Final costs cannot be determined until tenders have been issued and returned, but current information suggests that we should be budgeting for a cost of around £110,000.

To date the total of funds raised stands at approximately £75,000, so we will still require to find the balance of £35,000, if the scheme is to go ahead on time. Steps are being taken to seek grant assistance from a number of sources, but the success of those approaches can by no means be guaranteed and every effort needs to be made to close the gap. Thanks are due to all those who have already contributed generously to the fund, both by direct donation and by fund raising efforts, but now is the time to make a final push towards the cost target, so that the scheme can go ahead without delay.

If you have not already done so, you can make a special donation towards the project, either directly or through a fund raising event.

Direct donations may be eligible for Gift Aid and at this time this can add 25% to your donation. Gift Aid forms are available on request from the Church Office. All that is needed is for you to complete the form and return it with your donation to The Treasurer, Alan Douglas or Ronald Ireland, the Finance Convenor or to the Church Administrator, all of whom may be contacted at admin@topcop.org.uk

There may be those who have already donated to the fund, but who have not completed a Gift Aid form in respect of their donation. If you have made such a donation, please consider completing a form. If you wish to discuss this, please feel free to contact any of those mentioned above.
